This IP decoder/receiver works with a compatible B163-001 encoder (transmitter) to deliver 4K 60 Hz video/audio to two HDMI displays simultaneously. This enables everything from simple point-to-point extension across a classroom or multi-display distribution for lecture halls, boardrooms, medical facilities, retail settings and other mixed source environments.
Regulate Your AV over IP Installs with HDMI, DisplayPort and USB-C Support
You can create a universal AVoIP solution by converting a local AV source from a B163-001 encoder (sold separately) into a TCP/IP stream for transport over standard Cat5e/6 cabling through an IGMP-capable managed switch. The B163-100 allows integrators and IT teams to standardize one AV-over-IP platform for a variety of different sources. Laptops, media players, workstations and collaboration devices can all be connected without adapters or separate encoders.
Visually Lossless Compression and Ultra-Low Latency
Designed for demanding 4K environments, the B163-Series supports visually lossless compression (x18–x20), approximately 800 Mbps video bitrate and 2 ms latency at 2160p, preserving image fidelity for detailed content, fast motion and interactive use cases. Supported HDMI 2.1 features include HDR10 and Dolby Vision, HDCP 2.3, 12-bit color, RGB/4:4:4/4:4:2 chroma and 3D video, with backward compatibility for HDCP 2.2/1.4 display chains.
Unicast or Multicast Flexibility
Pair the B163-100 decoder with a B163-001 encoder in unicast (1-to-1) mode using channel selection and SET handshake. Alternatively, stream content from one B163-001 encoder to multiple B163-100 decoders across a managed network in broadcast/multicast (1-to-many over a managed network switch) for campus-wide distribution.

: B163-001 encoder is sold separately. Enable IGMP snooping/querier to prevent multicast flooding.
Integrated Control Extension
Bridge USB peripherals from the display side back to the source side and extend IR and RS-232 for integration into control systems. This decoder has four USB 2.0 device ports and includes front-panel function controls for toggling USB and RS-232 bridging, making the B163-Series suitable for KVM-style workflows, control rooms and automation-driven AV installations.
TAA-Compliant for GSA Schedule Purchases
The B163-100 is compliant with the Federal Trade Agreements Act (TAA), which makes it eligible for GSA (General Services Administration) Schedule and other federal procurement contracts.
