With this compact optically isolated device, you can protect your PC from dangerous spikes and surges on the RS-485/RS-422 network. Simply plug it into your PC's USB port (using an optional USB Type A - Type B cable) and configure its DIP switches for 2- or 4-wire operation. There's no need to use any ISA or PCI slots or IRQs. Windows automatically configures the output as an additional COM port.
